JPIAMR is Partnering on the Call to Action 2018 Conference in Ghana

This is the second global conference on AMR that Wellcome Trust is co-hosting, this time together with the governments of Ghana and Thailand and the United Nations Foundation. The conference takes place in Accra on November 19-20. The Call to Action on AMR 2018, is organised in partnership with the Inter-Agency Coordination Group (IACG) on Antimicrobial Resistance, bringing together stakeholders and pioneering projects.

The Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR) is a growing global collaborative platform, with 27 nations working to curb antibiotic resistance (AMR) with a One Health approach. In that spirit, being a partner is a natural fit.

At the conference, JPIAMR is putting focus on the recently pre-announced AMR Call on Diagnostics and Surveillance. Being included, as a partner in the program and via activities within the conference, the call is communicated together with facts about JPIAMR.

Pre-announcement: Call on AMR Diagnostics and Surveillance

JPIAMR is pleased to pre-announce a joint transnational research call for proposals for innovative research projects on new or improved diagnostic and surveillance strategies, tools, technologies and methods.  The call will support research projects that also have the potential for impact in areas where the risk and burden of AMR is greatest, such as in LMIC settings in Asia and Africa. Projects are encouraged to use a One Health approach where relevant.

The projected call budget is approx. 20 million Euro.
