At the conference 10 Years Joint Programming – Achievements and the Way Forward, that took place in Vienna on the 20th of September, the ten JPI’s used the occasion to present a joint JPI Chairs declaration.
The declaration, Driving research and innovation to address global challenges, summarises the JPIs’ views and ambitions for their future development and impact. The declaration was officially handed over in Vienna to the Chair of the High Level Group for Joint Programming (GPC), emphasising the importance of the commitment made by Member States as well as the support by the Framework Programme.
The conference shed light on the Joint Programming Initiatives, their achievements and possible contributions to strengthen the European Research Area (ERA). All this with a perspective of the ongoing negotiations for Horizon Europe, the role of future partnerships and the creation of EU missions.
Much of the discussions centered around the importance of science-policy cooperation to tackle global challenges and achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
